Hawaiian EDventure

This GROUP-based educational travel program is Hawaii’s premier educational and cultural travel program. Serving a broad range of students, adults, educators and life-long learners, the Hawaiian EDventure is a custom-designed academic, cultural and recreational program that has set the standard for experiential learning programs.

Kahili Award

The Hawaiian EDventure Program was awarded the Kahili Award and the “Best of Show” by the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau in 1999 and 2002.

The annual “Keep It Hawaii” award acknowledges outstanding programs that perpetuate Hawaii’s culture, history and environment in traditional and inspiring ways for visitors.

Island Connections & Cultural Exchanges!

The innovative and participatory curriculum encourages cultural, environmental and educational exploration. Opportunities to connect, and work with Hawaii’s Kupuna (elders), volcanologists, artists, musicians, teachers and business professionals will expand each EDventurer’s experience.

A Living Classroom!

Tropical rainforest, delicate stands of bamboo, marine life, astronomy, exquisite orchids, and the most varied topography in the world awaits every curious EDventurer. Set in a multicultural environment, the EDventure program provides hands-on participatory learning experiences for students ranging in age from 12 yrs - 90 yrs.

Designer programs are offered for life-long learners, intergenerational groups and international students! The EDventure Program can be structured to meet the educational, recreational and artistic needs of a variety of interest groups.

Experience the EDventure!

Your “Hawaiian EDventure” will be professionally coordinated by the University of Hawaii at Hilo Conference Center staff in conjunction with University faculty, local resources, and community field experts. All meals, lodging, ground transportation, and activity fees are included in the cost of the program.

Outdoor Classroom…the island of Hawaii’s lush tropical environment will become a spectacular outdoor classroom as the University staff design “hands-on”, experiential field excursions and dramatic lectures revealing the scientific and cultural wonders of our island paradise.
